Race Screen

At this point you will be at the main race screen called "The Chatroom". This is pretty self explanatory, but I'll touch on a few things anyway. The players that will be in your race are listed at the left top, along with their car number and how many points that they have won during this one session. Also in the top left is where you check-in when you're ready to race. Try to do this a quickly as possible, as the race cannot start until everyone is X-ed in. Not doing this in a timely matter WILL get you booted.

At the top right you will find the track that you'll be running, the laps you'll run, and the wetness setting. All of these setting can only be changed by whoever is hosting the session.

The bottom right-hand section is how you access your setups. Click on "Player Setup", then "Load Setup" to load your setup for that particular track. You can also fine-tune or "tweak" your setups this way.

The "Disconnect" button is just that, the way that you leave a race. It takes you back to the Gamespy screen.

The bottom-left section is, to me at least, one of the most fun parts of the game. There are truly some funny people in this game. This is where everyone talks to each other between races. There are a few abbreviations that most people use to cut down on the typing time, and they can be confusing at first for beginners. Here are some of the most common, so you'll know what everyone is talking about.

GR ---- Good Race....used to congratulate someone

NL ---- Nice Lap....a pat on the back for a really low lap time in the previous race

NP ---- No Problem....usually used when someone apologizes for hitting you or spinning you out

HWG ---- Here We Go....from the host, meaning, the race is about to begin

THX or TY ---- Thanks

YW ---- You're Welcome

BRB ---- Be Right Back....a racer is away from his computer for a moment (usually to go to the bathroom...LOL!!)
