Overview

This dippy game is based off the popular dice game Greed or Greedy. In the original, players take turns until someone reaches 10,000 points. In my version, you get 2 minutes or 40 turns to score as many points as possible. There is a little skill involved, but for the most part success is in the dice. I'm not sure I like that. Other than luck of the dice, the next biggest factor is speed. To get your full 40 turns in two minutes, you have to be playing pretty fast. Speed comes with practice, just keep trying.

How To Play

Each turn begins with the roll of five dice. The freshly rolled dice will first show up in the Bad Dice are of the screen. The game will then remove any scoring dice and put them into the good dice area. Assuming there are any good dice of course. If not, the turn is over, roll again.

About now you're asking what makes them good dice? Good dice are those which score points. All ones and fives are good dice. Other numbers can be good dice if there are enough of them or exactly one of them. That last one is called a straight. It can be 1,2,3,4,5 or 2,3,4,5,6. Enough of them means more than two. Take a look at the scoring chart below and it'll all make sense. But, even if it doesn't, the game decide what are good dice and bad dice, so you really don't have to worry about it.

Assuming there were some good dice, you'll be shown the value of those dice in big green numbers. At this point you have a decision to make. You can either end your turn now and take the points shown, or you can roll the bad dice again and try to get good dice. If there are no bad dice, you MUST roll all five dice again before you can end your turn. It's a rule. If you roll again and get more good dice, they are added to the big green numbers and play continues. If you roll again and don't get any more good dice, you lose the points added so far and your turn is over. This is the greed part. Just how greedy are you?

Once you are satisfied with the amount of points for the turn, or not satisfied with your odds of getting more good dice, you click on End Turn. Doing so will cause your score to be updated and everything will be reset for the next turn.

Play continues this way until two minutes have elapsed or you have used all 40 turns. When either of these points is reached, the game is over and you're taken to the Game Over screen. At the Game Over screen, you can view the high scores and/or submit your score. You can also choose to play again.

That's all there is to it, enjoy!
