Overview

As of this typing, this is the dippiest of the dippy games to date. The idea is simple, get the tractor and pulling sled to the other side of the screen. You are scored based on how many times you can do that and how efficiently you do it. Each time you do it, it gets a little harder. By level 10, the last level, it's nearly impossible to do.

There are many things I would like to add to this game as time permits. Here's the short list...

  • Sound - A nice variable pitch engine sound would be nice.

  • Better Graphics - The tractor should be doing a wheelie most of the time, the wheels on the tractor should be turning, there should be smoke, there should be dust. I would like to add other tractors for the higher levels like multi-engine ones and jet powered ones (I got to see Art Arfons' Green Monster as a kid) and maybe even some mini-rods and trucks.

  • Steering and Moisture Mapping - In the real world, the ability to steer to other parts of the track with more moisture is important. The ability to do that here would make the game much more interesting.

  • More Simulation Parameters - Like weight distribution and tire pressure. Again, just to make it more interesting.

  • High Scores In Game - The ability to view the scores in the game instead of a web page.
For now, it is a playable game that can be challenging and I hope you enjoy.

Controls

This is as simple as it gets. All you use are the left and right arrow keys. By tapping them in an alternating pattern (left right left right), you move the cursor on the power meter. The faster you tap, the farther you move the cursor. The goal is to keep the cursor in the green part of the meter. Doing so make the tractor move the fastest. If you tap too fast, you start spinning the tires and the tractor stops. If you tap too slow, the tractor stops and the pull (and game) is over. Each time you make a full pull, the difficulty increases and you start again.

Scoring is based on how far you pull the sled with a bonus for keeping the cursor in the green. Each time the cursor gets out of the green, the bonus is decreased. The maximum bonus is 100 points. There is also a score multiplier for each level. So, for level one, the best you can do is 300 feet pulled plus 100 bonus times 1 or 400 points. For level 2, it's (300 + 100) * 2 or 800. If you can get to level 10, you can get a maximum of (300 + 100) * 10 or 4000 points. That is the theory anyway. I can tell you in advance, there is no way you'll ever get the maximum on level 10. :)

Enjoy!
